This National Historic Landmark, built between 1801 and 1807, was once the home of the Calverts, one of Maryland’s founding families, and offers a unique blend of European and architectural styles, selections from the letters of Rosalie Stier Calvert and a rich and interesting history.

Built in 1746, this Georgian brick house was once the home of Secretary of the Navy Benjamin Stoddert, and is now owned and maintained by Bladensburg for meetings and special events.

Laurel Museum

This former home for millworkers in the Laurel Cotton Mill, built in the early 1840s, now houses an extensive exhibit gallery and library with period artifacts and information.

Located at the site of the world’s oldest continuously operating airport, the museum includes a 1911 Wright B (the Wright Brothers trained the first two military pilots to fly there in 1909) and a 1918 Curtis Jenny.

Designed and built for the Snowden family in the 1780s, this National Historic Landmark is nestled within 70 acres of rolling parkland, and is one of the finest examples of Georgian architecture in the state. While there, visit the Montpelier Cultural Arts Center (12826 Laurel-Bowie Road, 301-953-1993, weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekends 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., shared parking lot) for artist studios, exhibits, classes and live performances.

Greenbelt Museum

Greenbelt, a National Historic landmark community, was built by the federal government as a New Deal social experiment. An original house now houses domestic artifacts from the era of the town’s founding (1930s) and original furniture designed for the Greenbelt homes.

The Greenbelt Community Center is a designated National Historic Site. This former New-Deal era elementary school was renovated and re-opened in 1997 as a dynamic community cultural center housing amenities such as: an art gallery; the Greenbelt Museum curatorial office and historical exhibit space; dedicated visual and performing arts classroom space; studios for visual artist in residence; and the production studio of Greenbelt Access Television. Additional services at this facility include senior recreation programs, the city's Department of Planning and Community Development, the Greenbelt Nursery School, an adult day care center, and the offices of the volunteer run Greenbelt News Reveiw. Programs include ongoing exhibits, quaterly arts and fitness classes, and monthly special events.

National Wildlife Visitor Center

Established in 1936 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 12,750-acre refuge provide unparalleled opportunities to observe and learn about wildlife and the environment, as well as areas for hiking, bicycling, horseback riding and other outdoor activities. The center features state-of-the-art interactive exhibits, weekend wildlife movies, educational programs and seasonal tram tours.

Lake Artemesia/National Area Park

Built around a 38-acre lake, this beautiful park includes an aquatic garden, handicapped-accessible fishing pier and over two miles of hiker-biker trails. Because vehicles are not permitted on park grounds, visitors should enter the park via trails at the 5200 block of Calvert Road in College Park, or Osage Street and Swathmore Court in Berwyn Heights (parking lot within easy walking distance).

Bladensburg Waterfront Park

Fishing, boating, bicycling, sports, festivals, events and more fill the calendar in the area that was the site of the Battle of Bladensburg in 1814. Once a colonial port town, the park and surrounding area are filled with recreational and historic sites and activities.

The Anacostia Tributary Trail System offers miles of hard surface and natural surface trails, most with natural shade, with exercise stations, playgrounds and other man-made features throughout, along with tumbling waterways and scenic views. Trails pass Indian Creek, College Park Airport/College Park Aviation Museum, Lake Artemesia, the Calvert Road Park and many other sites of historic, cultural, recreational and environmental significance.
