Health & Safety
Exemplary health, safety and environmental (HSE) performance is key to business results and stakeholder needs.
Athabasca is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for our employees and contractors. We believe in being accountable to our stakeholders and we conduct our business with respect and care for the environment.
We are proud of our culture where workers make choices throughout their work day to ensure Athabasca is a safe place to work. We support that culture by ensuring we have an integrated approach to managing the daily risks that is transparent and involves all levels of the organization from the worker all the way to the CEO.
That approach includes:
- Working closely with all contractors, including performing HSE Audits
- Prompt and effective incident response and reporting
- Evidence based approach to determine field initiatives
- Comprehensive emergency response plan (Incident Command System) that includes quarterly drills performed in each operating area
We tie our corporate performance scorecard to our Total Reportable Injury Frequency (TRIF), number of Emergency Reponse Plan (ERP) drills, and Contractor HSE Audits.
